Sorry, but I just had to get that out of my system! I have had this marked since I first read about them over at Recipegirl's blog. I am taking these cupcakes to Bunko tonight and couldn't wait to share them with you! I had a "sample" and let me tell you... they taste EXACTLY like a margarita! I doubt you could get a "buzz" (as one of my friends asked), so go ahead indulge and have a few! The lime buttercream icing really finishes these off perfectly, you won't want to use any other icing recipe for these cupcakes. With lime juice, zest and a touch of salt, Lori really hit this out of the park! Don't wait, make these for your next get together... they are an ideal treat for the adults!
Even after baking, you can taste the combination of margarita mix, tequila and grand marnier in these cupcakes. I am already imagining other cocktails that could be made into cupcakes... perhaps next up should be a mojito!

Our theme this month for bunko is margaritas and everything summer, and these cupcakes will fit the bill perfectly! Since I have to boogie on out soon to join the game, I'm keeping this post shorter than usual. I will be back tomorrow with something else to tempt your tastebuds, so come on back!

I have a recipe for Margarita cupcakes where you actually rim the cupcake holder edges in Kosher salt!

Margarita's AND cake?! Who could say no... I told my husband straight away about these (We share fond memories of our times with margarita's) and has insisted I make them next weekend. Can't wait!
