Greek Yogurt with Berries, Honey & Granola
Good Morning! I'm off to a great start today because I managed to wake up early and get my workout done. I try to get up and do it first thing as often as possible because it's not only a good way to get the morning started, but also a good way to make sure I stay on track for the day. If I have already put in the effort to workout I don't want to ruin that by eating the tons of high calorie foods all day. I try to save those for my after dinner treat each night.
So, once I finished my workout I decided to dig into the container of Stoneyfield Farm's new Greek Yogurt - Oikos. I've been a huge fan of their yogurt for awhile, but since my usual grocery store doesn't carry the Greek yogurt yet I hadn't tried it. When I was contacted to see if I would like to give them a try, I was very quick to say "yes!" My only problem was that I didn't know where I could find it. Fortunately, they were able to point me to another local store that carries it and I was able to select a few flavors using their coupons.
I picked up the 16 ounce container of Vanilla yogurt thinking I could come up with something interesting to do with it. Yogurt can be substituted in many recipes that call for sour cream such as dips and even in dishes that call for cream. Of course, the best of intentions often fall short and this was no exception. As I mentioned before, after my workout this morning I was craving something filling and healthy for breakfast. I decided to use about 3/4 cup of yogurt, a drizzle of honey, some blueberries and granola to give it more staying power.

It was a wonderful way to start my morning! The honey added just enough extra sweetness to the thick and rich tasting yogurt. Simply delicious, and healthy to boot! I also tried their Blueberry flavor and the Honey flavor, while both were delicious and could cure my afternoon sweet craving I loved the honey the most. Be sure to check your local grocery store for Stoneyfield Farms new Greek Yogurt - Oikos. You can click HERE to go to their website and request a coupon so that you can try it for yourself!
I must apologize for the lack of posts so far this week. I've been working on a big project (for me)... making decorated baseball cookies for My Youngest's end of season party. I will be sharing them tomorrow and hope you'll stop back by to see how I did!

I've looked for this yogurt in my town, but it's not to be found :(
